“Scientists are starting to assess the long-term impacts of the wildfire that has ravaged forests in and around Yosemite National Park for more than a month.
“The Rim Fire – sparked by a hunter’s illegal fire – has consumed about 400 square miles, making it the third-largest wildfire in California history.”
