Editorial: Burrowing Owls Endangered by San Jose Plan
From the San Jose Mercury News:
“After years of work, the master plan for publicly owned land around the San Jose/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant in Alviso is a good one except in one respect: It proposes a compromised habitat for the burrowing owl, a ’species of concern’ in endangered-species terms that nests near the bay and was supposed to be protected as part of the plan.
“The San Jose City Council vote is Tuesday.”
