San Diego: Construction Kicks off on Desal Plant
From the San Diego Union-Tribune:
Construction of the desalination plant in Carlsbad took a big step forward Thursday, when Poseidon Water began pouring concrete for a 3-million-gallon water tank. Work on the county’s first desalination facility began this year, after the San Diego Water Authority approved a contract in November to buy about 50 million acre-feet of water per day from Poseidon. An acre-foot is enough water to cover an acre of land a foot deep, or enough to supply two households for a year.
