Utah: Water Puzzle Getting Complex

“In a presentation before the St. George City Council on Thursday, Ron Thompson, general manager of the Washington County Water Conservancy District, outlined some of the challenges for the region as growth continues and water sources become more scarce. …
“To meet the need, planning ahead is essential, Thompson said, describing planned projects such as a new $80 million reservoir in Warner Valley and the controversial Lake Powell pipeline, which would cost Washington County an estimated $900 million to build, according to water district estimates, a figure disputed by pipeline opponents.”
