Wednesday’s Top of the Scroll: Local Agencies Approve Salton Sea Accord

“The Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors on Tuesday formalized its push to restore the Salton Sea and transform the area into an energy producer with its unanimous approval of a memorandum of understanding on the matter with the county of Imperial and the Imperial County Air Pollution Control District. The County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the MOU at its public meeting earlier that day.
“The document outlines how the three agencies will work together to address the decline of the Salton Sea and to avert widely feared environmental and economic consequences if nothing is done.”
