Welcome back! Here’s the weekend wrap-up:
At the top of the scroll: “Reclamation Announces Initial 2014 Central Valley Project Water Supply Allocation” headlined a Bureau of Reclamation news release Friday, Feb. 21. Included in the news coverage from the announcement were these articles: “Feds to Central Valley Farmers: Expect No Water this Summer,” The Fresno Bee; “Forecast: ‘Zero’ Water for Many Central Valley Farms,” The Sacramento Bee; and “Most Central Valley Growers to Get No Water from Central Valley Project,” from the Los Angeles Times.
The Associated Press reported, “Water, Ethics Bills Play Big Roles in 2014 Session.” In the Los Angeles Times, a Capitol Journal column by George Skelton was “Brown Makes the Sale on Water Program.” A Dan Walters column in The Sacramento Bee was “California Politicians Have Talked About Water, But Done Little.”
Also, it was announced that the Bay Delta Conservation Plan public comment period has been extended to June 13, 2014.
