Yung-Hsin Sun is chief water resources engineer with Stantec, where he has worked since 2001. Dr. Sun is a principal engineer with 29 years of experience leading, managing, and planning large-scale water resource projects for flood management, water supply and ecosystem restoration.
Based in Sacramento, he also has served as a senior strategic advisor for the California Department of Water Resources on a number of projects, including the California Water Plan Update 2018. In addition, he has served as a senior consultant for the Bureau of Reclamation’s San Joaquin River Restoration Program and American River Basin Study, and assisted several state agencies in developing a long-term water conservation and drought-planning framework.
He is a 1986 graduate of the National Chiao Tung University, in Hsinchu, Taiwan, and in 1994 received his doctorate in civil and environmental engineering from UCLA.
