The flagship of the Foundation, the quarterly Western
Water magazine provided in-depth coverage on topics ranging
from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, groundwater and ocean
water desalination to dam removal, drought in California and the
Colorado River Basin, and sustainability of water resources. The
first issue of Western Water was published in 1977.
Western Water became an online newsroom in 2018 but you can look
at the archives and excerpts from the print magazine here as well
as buy past issues of the magazine.
The Water Education Foundation’s “flagship” is its quarterly
Western Water magazine. Each issue examines a different
aspect of the water picture. Western Water is the only
magazine in California and the West to focus exclusively on
in-depth coverage of water resources issues.
