Agenda Posted for Water 101 Workshop in Early February
Great Opportunity for New Board Members and Anyone Interested in Learning More
Go beyond the headlines of California’s drought and groundwater issues and gain a deeper understanding of the state’s water issues at our Water 101 workshop on Feb. 5-6 in West Sacramento.
With an all-star line-up featuring top experts and policymakers, the first day of our popular workshop explores the history and geography of the state’s water infrastructure, offers a primer on water rights and where they come into play, and explains which agencies regulate water and how you can work with the state Legislature.
It also delves into hot topics such as the new Sustainable Groundwater Management Act and what’s next in implementing the landmark legislation as well as funding opportunities from the water bond passed by voters in November.
The optional second day serves as a primer on governance for water board directors and discusses how to work with the media.
