Works on bills relating to conservation and management of public
resources, fish and wildlife, regulation of oil, mining,
geothermal development, acid deposition, wetlands and lakes,
global atmospheric effects, ocean and bay pollution, forestry
practices, recreation, parks and historical resources and
beverage container recycling.
Jurisdiction includes all matters relating to soil and water
contamination; regulation of solid, hazardous, and nuclear
wastes; regulation of industrial plant security; regulation of
drinking water; and, regulation of toxic substances and noise.
Jurisdiction includes forest reserves and national parks; U.S.
Geological Survey; Endangered Species Act; interstate compacts
relating to apportionment of waters for irrigation; the Bureau of
Reclamation; mineral resources and mining; and American
Indian issues.
