The daylong workshop helps participants go beyond the headlines and gain a deeper understanding of the history, legal and policy that has developed around the state’s most precious resource.
The workshop has an optional, second half day geared toward governance for board members and tips on communicating water issues in a multimedia world.
The communications session is taught by Jennifer Persike, deputy executive director of external affairs/member services, for the Association of California Water Agencies and Tom Philp, executive strategist for Metropolian Water District and 2005 Pulitzer Prize winner for editorial writing when he was at the Sacramento Bee.
