The Bureau of Reclamation has approved us for a special “hard-hat tour” of the dam. You’ll pass through elevators and doors that are closed to the public as managers give you an inside look at its operations. Highlights will include walking inside the 2,080-megawatt hydropower plant, traversing interior service passages and inspection tunnels, and seeing architectural designs of a past era. After the dam tour, you will explore the expanded visitor’s center and walk to the top of the dam for an unforgettable view.

This is only the first stop on our tour along the premier river of the Southwest! We continue through Nevada, Arizona and California to see Central Arizona Project facilities, the Warren H. Brock Reservoir and the All-American Canal, Imperial Dam and Metropolitan Water District of Southern California facilities, including Gene Pumping Plant and a boat ride through Copper Basin.
