Mark Cowin and Jennifer Gimbel to Speak at March 25 Briefing
Hot topics to be discussed include drought, the water bond and the new groundwater management act
Mark Cowin, director of the California Department of Water Resources, and Jennifer Gimbel, principal deputy assistant secretary for water and science at the Department of the Interior, will headline a lineup of top speakers at the Water Education Foundation’s March 25 Executive Briefing.
Key topics to be discussed at the 32nd annual briefing, “The Value of Water: Building Momentum in 2015,” include long-term water management challenges; implementation of the new sustainable groundwater management law; the water bond and steps to allocate the funds; the restoration challenge of the Salton Sea; and the Bay-Delta at a crossroads.
The one-day event will be held at the at the Red Lion Woodlake Hotel and Conference Center in Sacramento. Registration is $275 for Foundation major contributors; $375 for non-contributors and includes coffee breaks, lunch and a hosted reception sponsored by CV Strategies.
The Briefing will be held at the Red Lion Hotel Woodlake/Sacramento, 500 Leisure Lane in Sacramento.
