“Imperial County leaders have forged a truce to end more than a decade of infighting over restoring the Salton Sea — acrimony directly connected to the ongoing sale of water to the San Diego region.

“The agreement outlines a number of principles to guide the Imperial Irrigation District and Imperial County as both pledge to work together on a long-term comprehensive $3 billion strategy to save the sea.”
