Project WET and the Hierarchy of Needs — California Project WET Gazette
Activities for Social and Emotional Learning
As the year-long challenge of COVID-19 begins to ebb and the transition back into the classroom occurs over the next month, students will likely have social and emotional needs that must be met before learning can take full flight once more. Activities to help focus on these needs and rebuild the classroom community is the focus of the Spring 2021 Gazette.
In addition to the Gazette, the Water Education Foundation, where California Project WET is based, has a few interesting tidbits to announce. The Foundation:
- Has released a newly redesigned educational map of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta that explores its place as a center of farming, its importance as an ecological resource and its vital role in California’s water supply system.
- Will be hosting a virtual open house on May 6th as part of the Big Day of Giving, where you will learn more about Project WET and other programs and projects produced by the Foundation. Sign up for Foundation announcements to get more details throughout April.
Finally, keep an eye out for new Project WET workshops and special events. We are cautiously optimistic that we will be able to convene trainings with socially distanced field opportunities later this summer.
Hope we all have a much brighter spring! – Brian
