Jennifer Fergesen
Aquafornia Curator
Jennifer Fergesen is a journalist who curates the Foundation’s Aquafornia daily water news roundup. As a writer, she focuses on the intersection between food, migration and the environment.
Her work has appeared in publications including the San Francisco Chronicle and the Financial Times, was anthologized in Best American Food Writing 2023, and has received awards and nominations from the James Beard Foundation, the International Association of Culinary Professionals, the California News Publishers Association and others.
Jennifer has a bachelor’s degree in geology and English from Mount Holyoke College and a master’s degree in creative writing from the University of California, Davis. She has served in editorial roles for publications in the U.S. and abroad and is the founding editor of Polarlit, the world’s northernmost literary journal.
