Description: The Contra Costa County Water District invites Contra Costa educators to join us in Concord on Saturday, November 16, 2024 for a FREE water education training learning about the Contra Costa water system and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Bollman Water Treatment Plant.
Participants will also get to experience interdisciplinary, hands-on Project WET activities are designed to engage students in the study of water science and management and how these activities can be applied to our local water resources, while supporting Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.
Participants in this FREE workshop will receive:
- A copy of the new Project WET Foundations of Water Education guide;
- A great overview of the Contra Costa water delivery system;
- Behind-the-scenes tour of a water treatment plant;
- Coffee, breakfast snacks and lunch;
- A $75 stipend and opportunity to register for continuing education units (CEUs) upon completion of the workshop
This event is open to credentialed teachers and any other educators who work with K-12 students. This event is hosted in partnership with CCWD and the Water Education Foundation’s California Project WET program.
