Save the Dates for Our 2018 Water Tours!
Visit the mighty Colorado River and Hoover Dam, trek into the Sierra Nevada, and more!
Our popular and widely celebrated water tour program is offering six tours in 2018. Tickets are now on sale.
In addition to our five annual tours below, we will be offering a two-day Headwaters Tour in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We offered this tour in 2017 to great success and have received requests to conduct it again.
For the first time, we will also be offering a one-day tour of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta as part of our Water 101 Workshop. The 2018 tours will be held on the following dates:
- Central Valley Tour, March 14-16
- Lower Colorado River Tour, April 11-13
- Bay-Delta Tour, May 16-18
- Headwaters Tour, June 28-29
- Northern California Tour, Oct. 10-12
- San Joaquin River Restoration Tour, Oct. 31- Nov. 1
Our tours offer participants a firsthand look at the water facilities, rivers and regions critical in the debate about the future of water resources. Issues of water supply, water quality, environmental restoration, flood management, groundwater and water conservation are addressed by a wide range of speakers representing different viewpoints.
The tours are praised for being balanced, thorough and fun. Participants learn about local, state and federal issues from experts on all sides. Time for socializing and networking is included in the action-packed itineraries.
Registration is now open. Contact Tour Director Dan Scott with any questions about tours or our tour sponsorship program at dscott@watereducation.org.
