2025 Water Leader Applications Now Open

Are you an up-and-coming leader in the water world? Applications are now available for our 2025 California Water Leaders cohort, and are due no later than Dec. 5, 2024.

If interested in applying, start by checking out the program requirements. Make sure you have the time to commit to the program next year and approval from your organization to apply.

Then sign up here to join a virtual Q&A session on Nov. 6 at 12:30 p.m. with Jenn Bowles, our executive director, and other Foundation team members to get an overview of the program and advice on applying.

A limited amount of scholarship funding is available, including one from the Association of California Water Agencies for an employee of a water district that is an ACWA member.

Agenda Posted for Oct. 30 Water Summit

An agenda is now posted for Reflecting on Silver Linings in Western Water, the Water Education Foundation’s 2024 Water Summit, set for Wednesday, Oct. 30, in downtown Sacramento. Now in its 40ᵗʰ year, the Water Summit will gather leading experts and top policymakers for conversations focused on the promising advances that have developed from myriad challenges faced in managing the West’s most precious natural resource.

• The pivot to a wider array of water management strategies including floodplain restoration, groundwater recharge & more
• The development of improved monitoring of water resources and greater access to data
• The progress toward more inclusive approaches to water decisions while navigating recent water management challenges
• The intersection of art, research & water
